| The ultimate file transfer solution for heterogeneous environments |
| Designed for UNIX and Windows NT/2000 networks, FEST is the easiest and most robust automatic forwarding solution available for medium and large corporations. FEST (SoftLink's Automated Forwarding and Distribution Technology) supports transferring thousands of files and very large files - not just megabytes but even terabytes. |
Operation & Capabilities |
FEST keeps things simple. FEST monitors the directories of your choice, noting when files are placed or transferred in. Once files have arrived, FEST checks its configuration files for instructions on how to deal with each new file - and carries out the relevant instructions. In addition to file-transfer operations, it can also perform any kind of pre-transfer or post-transfer processing operation.
With FEST you can determine:
Which file(s) are sent to which site(s)
The exact location of each file in the destination site(s)
The commands to be activated before and/or after file processing
Which files in the directory or directories are processed
Whether to hold transfer until an entire set of files arrives in a "hot" directory
Which FASTCopy qualifiers are used for each part of each transfer
Once the files have been filtered in this way, the processing (e.g. a file transfer) occurs on the files that meet the criteria for the operation. The configuration files can be modified on-the-fly, with no need to resubmit jobs or restart FEST.

Advanced control functions over each stage of FEST operation
|

 |
File grouping. Define interdependent groups of files which must be processed and/or transferred in the same operation.
