Upgading UNIX versions of FASTCopy and FEST

How do I perform a FASTCopy / FEST upgrade in UNIX?

Answer:

In order to upgrade your installation, follow those steps:

1. Go to http://www.softlink.com/download.php3 on SoftLink's web-site and download the latest FASTCopy kit for your OS:

2. Back up your existing installation directory (/usr/flogic/ - by default).

3. Back up your existing SoftLink security files:
   /etc/softlink.security
   /etc/softlink.login

4. Perform the upgrade only when the system is idle (No files being received or sent using FASTCopy / FASTLogic)

5. When installing the new version, use the ‘upgrade’ activation key provided by SoftLink Support

6. When done with the installation, copy your existing license files from the back up directory to the new installation directory. In addition, copy back the backed up security files to their appropriate locations.
