Do we send passwords in cleartext?

Question:

During a FASTCopy / FEST operation, are passwords ever sent across the network / Internet in clear text?

Answer:

Passwords are never sent in clear text. Passwords themselves are encrypted using the DES algorithm before being transmitted across the network. Security throughout the entire session is possible by activating SSL. Please consult the FASTCopy SSL Guide for instructions on activating SSL.
