B-Hub and unsafe Active-X control

Question:

When I try to send a Package, I get the following warning:

"An ActiveX control on this page is not safe.
Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe controls on this page. As a result, this page may not display as intended."
What does it mean?

Answer:

The B-Hub client Active-X control require access to files on your system. The guidelines Microsft published states that such control should not be marked safe by the vendor. The default settings of most IE browsers deny scripting controls that are not marked as safe for execution, and this is the messege you see. There are two options for working around this problem:

  1. In the IE "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options", select the "Security" tab, click the "Custom Level" botton. Set the "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" to "Prompt" (usually the third option). iPress the "Apply" botton. Note that this does not compromise your system security, as you will be prompted before scripting such Active-X.
  2. Ask your administrator to replace the control with the control marked as safe that we supply in the distribution. Although we trust our Active-X control and do our best to prevent people from compromising your system using this control, it is still the administrator decision.
