SuperFAST Transport for Large Files

With today's high-speed lines, standard file transfer protocols simply do not deliver. With 14-year experience in Enhanced File Transfer, SoftLink has developed SuperFAST - a high speed, lightweight, multi-stream file transfer protocol for large files over high speed lines.

While FASTCopy is SoftLink's enhanced file transfer protocol that provides over 200 related features including bandwidth control, among others, SuperFAST is speed oriented. Achieving high speed over fast lines is not trivial. Ordinary FTP on broadband lines does not fully utilize the available bandwidth. SuperFAST achieves speeds greater by up to 40% over ftp. Available for Windows delivery, SuperFAST offers:

  • Adjustable multi threading
  • Large file support
  • Monitoring
  • Recovery
  • Verification

  • SuperFAST digital data delivery protocol, takes a file, regardless of size, splits it into an adjustable number of sessions and reassembles the file on the target node, thus, achieving major throughput acceleration. Running parallel sessions multiplies the utilization of the assigned bandwidth.

Using the time based sliding window acknowledgment protocol; SuperFAST reduces the protocol overhead to almost zero.

Another feature that assists in achieving greater speed is packet size adjustability. SuperFAST allows its users to adjust both disk packet size and network packet size. Packet size adjustability allows users to fully optimize the file I/O interaction across networks and hardware.

Marketed as a FEST supported protocol, SuperFAST provides organizations with one of the fastest protocols available today. Combined with FEST multi-protocol management platform, companies can now enjoy better means of controlling their heterogeneous environment, utilizing different pipes and infrastructure restrictions. For industries that transfer very large files over WANs, like data storage, film production, media on demand, content delivery, global manufacturing and others, SuperFAST technology is in great demand.
